Cloud-Based Device Management

IP endpoints offer more powerful and simplified device management than their analog predecessors as users can now access each device via a web interface to customize their device settings. However, when organizations deploy many IP endpoints, managing each one independently can be time-consuming, thus there is often a need to manage multiple IP devices at one time using a single interface. And as organizations deploy IP endpoints across multiple locations, users also need a way to access endpoints from anywhere and at any time. A cloud-based device management system simplifies this challenge as it brings IP devices into a single view to streamline the management process.

The Algo Device Management Platform (ADMP) allows service providers and end users to oversee a deployment of multiple Algo endpoints from any location. Almost all Algo IP endpoints running the latest firmware (FW v5.2 or higher) can be configured to the ADMP for device management and supervision.

What is the ADMP?

The Algo Device Management Platform (ADMP) is a cloud-based device management solution to manage, monitor, and configure all registered Algo IP endpoints from any location. Devices are continuously monitored for connectivity, and an email-based notification is issued when a device goes offline. This allows for real-time supervision of device status. With a list of management activities, an end user or service provider can push to update configuration settings, troubleshoot devices, and upgrade firmware. Devices can be easily grouped via the tagging functionality to be overseen by district, department, and/or functionality. The ADMP is a helpful tool for both service providers and end users to effectively oversee all Algo IP endpoints deployed in a large environment or over multiple locations and networks. Monitoring

Users can monitor all Algo devices with Algo’s cloud-based platform. Devices are monitored for status, connectivity, and health. With a single-pane dashboard display on the main login page, users are provided with a quick overview of relevant information, such as devices monitored, products being monitored, and firmware upgrades available. Within the list of devices, users will see key details of each device including the local IP address, the current firmware version running on each device, and any relevant tags that have been applied. An email-based notification system within the ADMP will automatically send email notifications when a device becomes disconnected.

Users are also able to place devices they have uploaded in an unmonitored state within the ADMP. This will allow users to perform all management functionality to the device but will not monitor the device for connectivity, thus email notifications will not be sent should any unmonitored device go offline.

Management

From the management tab, users can see all Algo devices registered to their ADMP account. To manage the Algo IP endpoints, several actions can be performed for device organization, configuration, or troubleshooting. Actions are performed on either a single device or groups of devices based on the assigned tags.

Devices are organized by sorting the monitored device list or filtering tags. To find specific devices, users can also use the search function for quicker results. Configuring a device requires users to upload a configuration file or simply set a speaker volume straight from the ADMP. Users can also upgrade devices to the latest firmware or the firmware version of their choosing. Remote troubleshooting is also available through the ADMP, enabling users to either reboot a device or trigger a test tone.

Simply Manage Algo IP Endpoints

The ADMP simplifies the process of overseeing Algo IP endpoints, particularly for organizations managing devices spanned over a large facility, campus, or hospital, as well as for service providers who manage devices for multiple end users in various locations. Users can easily see if a device goes offline and respond as needed by either refreshing the device or making a visit to the site to inspect the device. Since the health of each device can be checked and actions can be performed remotely, the ADMP is ideal for reducing the number of visits required at any site, which subsequently reduces travel and labor costs.
